East 29th — East Van House Lift and Renovation

The East 29th Avenue project presented one of the most technically complex challenges in LJH Construction's portfolio: lifting an original East Vancouver character home, replacing the foundation, and completely renovating the interior — all while preserving the home's historic charm.

Working with the City of Vancouver's heritage guidelines, LJH carefully restored key original features including the exterior facade, decorative trim, and original wood flooring where salvageable. The interior was fully modernised with a new kitchen, bathrooms, updated electrical, and plumbing.

The project is a testament to LJH's deep expertise in character and heritage homes — knowing where to preserve, where to update, and how to navigate the regulatory process to achieve an outcome the neighbourhood can be proud of.
